Thrust Bearings

Simply Bearings is the UK's leading retailer of new and replacement parts for industrial machinery, plants and vehicles. We stock a truly extensive range of products and parts, including a variety of thrust bearings. Our range of stock covers all forms of thrust bearing, from spherical and needle bearings to thrust washers, which enables us to say with confidence that we have the precise part you need.

Thrust bearings are a form of rotary bearing. They are designed to allow rotation between moving parts; however, unlike other types of rotary bearings, they are specially engineered to accommodate high axial loads - loads parallel to the shaft. Depending on the intensity of the axial load, different forms of thrust bearing are required. These are broken down into different classifications depending on the kind of rolling element and the shape of the washers used. All forms of thrust bearing comprise two washers, or rings, with bearings supported in-between the two.

Thrust ball bearings are used to support low axial and radial loads and contain a ring that supports the ball bearings. The rings, or washers, can be flat or grooved depending on the application. Widths in our selection of thrust ball bearings extend from 6.35mm to 114.3mm.

Spherical roller bearings use rolling element bearings to permit low-friction rotation and accommodate radial and significantly heavier axial loads. These bearings are designed to allow angular misalignment of the shaft washer with respect to the house washer due to the spherical interior shape of the housing washer.

Cylindrical roller bearings are very similar to the spherical variety but use cylindrical rolling elements to provide a higher load-bearing capacity than ball bearings of equal size. We offer cylindrical thrust bearings in widths from 9mm to 300mm. Applications that involve higher speeds, such as vehicular applications, require regular lubrication with oil.

We offer thrust bearings from a variety of manufacturers, including Igus and SKF, along with budget brands to make certain that our range is suitable for everyone. We are also proud to offer price breaks for volume purchases.

To narrow down your selection, use the drop-down menus to specify your requirements in terms of bearing type, brand and size specifications. If you already know precisely the kind of part required, try entering the internal and external diameters into the boxes on the left.

If you require any further assistance in locating the right part, please do not hesitate to get in touch and a member of our friendly and experienced team will be happy to help.
