Incorrect way

Impacting or pressing a bearing on either the inner or outer race during fitting will damage the bearing and reduce its life.

Shocks will create pitting on the raceways, the bearing will run hot and noisy and destroy itself.

Correct way

Impacting or pressing a bearing on both the inner and outer raceways at the same time will ensure the bearing is not put under any undue stresses during fitting and ensure a long service life.
