Outer Facing Taper Bores H/H Type HRC Coupling Assemblies

Couplings play a key role in the power transmission process because they enable the ends of two rotating shafts to be joined while providing an allowance for misalignment or movement of the shafts. Flexible or semi-elastic couplings can cope with vibration and shock and produce less noise.

These assembly units are for general-purpose couplings and are designed to be quick and easy to assemble using the tapered locking bush fixing.

There are three types of HRC coupling flanges - H, F and B. The H type is the Hub version, where the tapered locking bush is inserted from the hub, or outer side. You can mix types, but the coupling assemblies featured here are double H types.

However, for a full coupling you need two flanges and an insert. Alternatively, you can buy the outer facing taper bores H/H type HRC coupling assemblies listed here that come ready to fit.

Outer facing taper bores H/H type HRC coupling assembly units - we stock a range of these units from Dunlop. The couplings are semi-elastic and the outside diameters are fully machined. That gives the great advantage of letting you align the coupling using straight edge methods for a quick and simple fitting process. The interacting dogs deliver "fail-safe" operation on the shaft connection, providing a safer working environment.

The outer facing taper bores H/H type HRC coupling assembly units come complete with everything you need for a coupling assembly with the exception of the tapered locking bushes. You'll need to choose the correct shaft size bushes for your requirement. You get two coupling flanges and a matching insert. In this range, the taper bores face outward (hub side), so this is what is known as an HH assembly.

The inserts in the outer facing taper bores H/H type HRC coupling assemblies are natural rubber, but if you need a fire-resistant and anti-static insert, we also carry these - look for the link on the product page.

Maximum bush bores range from 25 mm to 75 mm and in imperial, 1" to 3".
