There are 3 ways of identifying a tapered locking bush
Method 1
If there is a part number on the bush.
Part numbers are usually in the format of 2525-25 this would tell us the bush required to replace it is a 2525 series with a 25mm bore.
We would search "2525-25 and tapered locking bush" in our search box (top of the page)
Method 2
If there is no number on the bush or it is damaged.
In this instance we need to measure the inside diameter of the bush and the outside diameter of the bush at the largest point.
Our example was 24mm shaft size and 38mm at the largest diameter.
With this information we can search "tapered locking bush 24mm" in our search box (top of the page)
Using the drop down selector in the results page we can select the nearest outside diameter
Method 3
The bush is missing or damaged beyond measuring.
To get the inside diameter required we now need to measure the shaft diameter onto which it fits. To get the outside diameter we need to measure the pulley or sprocket boss into where it fits at the largest diameter of the taper. With this information we can search "tapered locking bush 24mm" in our search box (top of the page) .
Our example was 24mm shaft size and 38mm at the largest diameter.
Using the drop down selector in the results page we can select the nearest outside diameter, in this case our outside diameter measured 38mm and we can see 38.38mm in the list, this will be the one.
