When you order new OBI chainsaw parts, you can rapidly check that you've got the right size by looking at the product listings on the OBI chainsaw spares page. There are a couple of things to bear in mind, so here are some hints to make sure that you get the right size. Also, please note that new products are added to our listings all the time, so it's always worth checking back with us if you can't see what you need. Alternatively, give our helpful telephone team a ring and they'll be happy to advise you.
Pitch Size, Drive Link and Bar Size on Replacement OBI Chainsaw Chains
The most common size of pitch (the space between each drive link) is 3/8 of an inch. OBI chainsaw parts conform to this standard. The total length of the chain is usually defined by the number of links it contains. However, you can sometimes find that chainsaws have one bar size that actually takes chains with different numbers of drive links. For example, a 45cm bar might have two chains - one with 60 links and another with 61.
The OBI chainsaw spares, however, have a simple single link length. The BI CH052 Chainsaw Chain fits the 35cm Bar on the 2115 model. It has 52 links, and the 35cm measurement is equivalent to 14 inches.
Don't worry if you have ordered the wrong part or find a spare in the back of your shed and realise that you don't need the chain. We operate a no-quibble refund policy that lasts for 90 days after you've bought the product. You can simply send it back to us and we will then either refund you or send a different item if that's what you want. This is all part of the Simply Bearings service, and it enables our customers to buy with confidence, knowing that we always deal fairly with them.
Fitting replacement OBI chainsaw chains regularly will prolong the life of your chainsaw and makes using the tool safer with more accurate cutting. So it may be worth considering buying a few of these spares and taking advantage of the generous discounts on multiple purchasers.
Safe chainsaw use is a concern for everyone, but accidents can happen. Therefore it makes sense to invest in some safety equipment specifically for chainsaw users. We have a great range, including an integrated set with helmet, face visor and ear defenders. There are also gloves specifically for use with chainsaws and protective chaps to be worn over trousers. So take a look and ensure that you are using your chainsaw safely with the right protection.
