What are locking washers?
Locking tab washers are a reliable, stable and simple means of making sure lock nuts stay securely fastened. The central tab is located in a key slot or shaft keyway and the nut is fitted and tightened to the desired torque. This leaves the washer with a tab aligned with a lock nut slot and the tab then folds over into this slot. These lock nuts are used in conjunction with the KML and KM series and are inexpensive, re-usable and easy to remove in addition to being secure and efficient.
Tab washers for lock nuts are commonly used in lifting equipment; cranes and lifts; pumps; guidance systems and trackers; transport and rail use; shipping and marine construction; and general engineering purposes.
