Tapered roller bearings are designed to contain and manage both thrust and radial forces on the housings and rotating shafts of machines.
The RHP 1100K series covers taper bore bearing inserts with parallel outer races. These are very cost-effective and are excellent for use when you need to replace a housed insert, because they are easy to remove from housings.
However, you must use a taper sleeve when locating a tapered bore bearing onto a cylindrical seating. These are available from Simply Bearings. The taper sleeve makes fitting a much faster job, because you can easily position the bearing before you lock the shaft.
The 1100K series bearings are sealed for life. This is essential for retaining the lubricant in the bearing and therefore maximising its performance. An appropriate lubricant reduces friction on the bearing and also prevents it becoming corroded. The seal keeps dirt and other contaminants outside the bearing, and retains the lubricant within the bearing. This is critical because the cleanliness of the bearing has a major effect on how long it will last.
Taper bore steel parallel outer inserts are available in a range of metric and imperial sizes. The inside diameters range from ? to 2, or 19.05 mm to 50.8 mm. The outside diameters are all metric and range from 52mm to 100mm.
