Fretting corrosion can be a problem where you have slight movement between metal surfaces in loose fit arrangements and it can damage bearings. This may be the case in automotive applications such as wheel nuts. Bearings and other components can be very difficult to dismount once the fretting occurs. Automotive grease needs to take account of this - use the SKF anti-fretting agent to combat this problem.

If you need to comply with current guidelines non-toxicity and biodegradable products, SKF has a synthetic ester oil-based grease that will fit the bill. For food safety, including compliance with Halal and Kosher standards, we have a food-safe grease based on white medical oil.
