Simply Bearings are seeking an Accounts Assistant to join our Accounts Team based in Leigh. With a starting salary of £21,000 depending on age, which will increase following a successful probationary period, and a performance related bonus, this is a great opportunity to join a true market leader.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, hardworking, reliable and organised team player with a desire to develop their skills. You should be computer literate, logical thinking, have good time management skills and have excellent communication skills.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
  • Printing product invoices and credit notes
  • Matching product invoices to delivery notes
  • Filing product invoices and delivery notes
  • Creating new files for invoices and credit notes
  • Scanning fixed asset invoices
  • Scanning expense invoices
  • Checking account customer orders prior to processing
  • Updating customers accounts from Creditsafe notifications
  • Update currencies on all systems
  • Checking petty cash/safe balances
  • Downloading weekly sales information into Excel
The Accounts Assistant must be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience
  • Experience of working on computerised systems.
  • Good communication at all levels.
  • Good organisation skills with the ability to prioritise and work in a methodical manner.
  • Computer literate including Excel and Word.
Package
  • Annual starting salary £21,000
  • Quarterly performance related bonus
  • Working hours: Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.30pm

Skills and Experience
  • Engaging with a wide range of customers either by telephone or electronically
  • Providing UK and International Sales support
  • Resolving UK and International sales enquiries received via telephone or electronically
  • Preparation and processing of UK and International sales quotes and sales orders
  • Processing purchase orders for account customers
  • Dealing with customer returns/exchanges
  • Ability to multitask whilst remaining customer focused
  • Ability to build a good rapport with customers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • IT literate with the ability to show excellent attention to detail
  • Experience of working within a sales environment
  • A good technical ability would be ideal, however full training will be provided
Package

Purchasing Assistant

About this role
  • Purchase all goods in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets.
  • Build and maintain supplier relationships, Negotiate with suppliers for improved prices, terms of business and review opportunities.
  • Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery or invoice issues.
  • Manage / Maintain stock levels whilst analysing buying trends.
  • Assisting other departments with Purchasing related matters.
