We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, hardworking, reliable and organised team player with a desire to develop their skills. You should be computer literate, logical thinking and have excellent communication skills. Working as part of the IT team your prime role will be to list new products using Microsoft Excel, write appropriate descriptions of the products, photograph new stock as it arrives, update pricing from manufacturers’ price lists and publish to the web thereafter. Attention to detail is key to ensure 100% accuracy on product listings. An ability to work as part of a team whilst working individually is essential. Skills and Experience
  • Engaging with a wide range of customers either by telephone or electronically
  • Resolving UK and International sales enquiries received via telephone or electronically
  • Preparation and processing of UK and International sales quotes and sales orders
  • Processing purchase orders for account customers
  • Dealing with customer returns/exchanges
  • Ability to multitask whilst remaining customer focused
  • Daily buying to fulfil customer orders/maintain stock levels

Simply Bearings are seeking an Accounts Assistant to join our Accounts Team based in Leigh. With a salary of £17,000 - £18,000, this is a great opportunity to join a true market leader.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
  • Invoicing/crediting customers
  • Processing supplier invoices for products and expenses on a daily basis and ensuring all supplier invoices are filed accurately
  • Posting journals relating to customer/supplier payments
  • Reconciliation of supplier statements
  • Process petty cash, customer and supplier payments
  • Credit control
  • Pursue outstanding debts with prompt resolution to queries
  • Banking cheques
  • Processing refunds for returns/exchanges
  • Reconciling trade counter sales daily
  • Processing credit account applications
  • Bank reconciliations
  • The Accounts Assistant must be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
  • Strong credit control skills
  • Experience of working on both Purchase and Sales Ledger computerised systems
  • Good reconciliation skills
  • Good communication at all levels
  • Good organisation skills with the ability to prioritise and work in a methodical manner
  • A confident telephone manner to be able to resolve customer queries
  • Computer literate including Excel and Word

    Skills and Experience
    • Accurately and efficiently pick products for customer orders ensuring products match the customer’s paperwork
    • Carry out stock taking duties when required
    • Stock replenishment ensuring stock is prepared and placed in the correct location
    • Checking the quality of products prior to orders being sent to dispatch
    • Measuring products accurately using the correct tools, for example, vernier calipers and scales
    • Packing and dispatching orders efficiently to the required standard ensuring the correct postal service is selected
    • Processing customer orders at the Trade Counter
    • Unload containers efficiently and safely
    • Maintain good housekeeping of the warehouse at all times
    • Comply with all health and safety legislation and company procedures
    • Good organisational skills and the ability to work to specific guidelines
    • Routine orientated
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Strong work ethic
    • Flexible and able to work as part of team as well as independently
    • Computer literate
    • Forklift Truck licence would be an advantage but not essential
    • Previous eCommerce experience would be an advantage but not essential as full training will be provided


    Package
    • Annual salary starting at £16,287-£17,680
    • Working hours: Monday to Friday 8.40am to 5.40pm
