Bonded Seal Washers
When assembling things like hydraulic fittings, valve bodies and pipe joints using bolts, it's necessary to prevent leakage from around the heads of the fastening. The most common way to do this is to use bonded seal washers. These are made up of a metal washer that is bonded to an internal rubber section that is thicker than the washer itself. As the bolt is tightened, the rubber elements of the bonded seals are compressed until the bolt head reaches the metal part of the washer, creating a high-pressure seal in the process. This type of washer is found in a wide range of machinery, industrial plant and agricultural equipment.
