Single-Row Taper Roller Bearings

The single-row taper roller bearings are radial bearings that separate out into an inner and outer ring. The inner ring has a roller set, and the cone serves as the cage assembly. The loose outer ring is the cup. The single-row bearings can handle thrust loads in a single direction only, so they have to be used in pairs. One bearing is adjusted against another one that turns the shaft in the other direction.

These bearings can be used with both thrust and radial forces, but they are also suitable for tilting moments and combined loads. The load on the bearing is transferred at an angle towards the centre line of the shaft. The ability of the taper roller bearing to handle axial loads depends on this contact angle.

The single-row taper roller bearings have outer and inner raceways, and tapered rollers are arranged between them. The design of the tapered rollers makes them able to accommodate combined radial and axial loads.

Spacers and Conversion Washers

The bearings have a large bore to outer diameter ratio combined with a low height overall. This means they can be used where space is restricted, as it often is in automotive applications.
