Carbon Steel Gib Head Key Steels: These keys are commonly used within engines, motors, and motor shafts to securely hold pulleys and gears tight to a rotating shaft. The gib head on these keys allows for easy and quick removal. All of the gib head keys that we stock are supplied with a 1:100 (mm) taper, the taper provides a secure and tight lock between applications. These keys are manufactured from carbon steel (080M40 EN8 or C45+C or DIN6887).
