In addition to our range of bearings and housings, we carry the SKF range of rubber seating rings. These products are available in a range of inner diameter (39.8mm to 76.7mm) and outer diameter (47.3mm to 85.3mm) sizes and must be ordered separately from the bearings and inserts.

The primary purpose of rubber seating rings is to provide a cushion or buffer for bearings in pressed steel pillow block or plummer housings. These rings reduce noise and vibration and accommodate small amounts of shaft misalignment or shaft elongation. They are usually placed between the bearing outer ring and the housing bore; in addition, they are occasionally fitted to inset bearing outer rings to allow the support of rollers and to act as a kind of tyre. The rubber seating rings we stock are made of acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber (NBR) and have a convex spherical outer diameter. These items can be used at temperatures between -30°C and 100°C.
