Codex are a Slovenian company founded in 1993 in Mura - the most eastern and most agricultural region of the country. Since 1993, they have enjoyed strong growth and their engineering products are now available in at least 40 countries worldwide. They have acquired a reputation for good quality products at very affordable prices.

Given their agricultural neighbourhood, many of their original products were focused on agricultural bearings and drive train products but have since expanded to cover the broad range of bearings, gearing, brackets, chains, v-belts and other associated products. They are OEM for a long list of other machinery manufacturers and are largely interchangeable with components made by other leading brands. Their bearings are now widely encountered in sawmills, conveyors, generators, electric motors, industrial fans, manufacturing machinery and in electrical hand tools.

Their main product ranges include bearings, assembled bearing units, drive chains, sprockets, plate wheels, V-belts, rod ends, retaining rings and seals, sprays such as cleaners, lubricants, belt dressings, and thread and surface sealants, and adhesives including super glues, epoxies and liquid metal fillers.

Although they also distribute for other companies, notably Schaeffler and Rexnord, their own products are badged with three different brands; Codex Extreme, Codex MSC or just Codex. These three ranges translate as premium, economy and regular quality ranges.

Codex-MSC is the economy brand and suitable for less demanding applications but with a significant cost saving. Codex 'regular' is the main brand and is intended to provide the best cost-value balance for the broad majority of applications. Codex-Extreme is an extra high-quality brand ideal for applications where additional performance characteristics are needed, such as low noise operation, high accuracy, vibration suppression or tolerance of high revolution speeds. Many of the bearings in the Codex-Extreme class are denoted EMQ standing for electric motor quality.

Their bearings cover the full range, for example, tapered, cylindrical and spherical types of ball bearings, roller bearings and plain bearings, separate insert bearings, bearing housing units, weather-resistant agricultural bearings and cup and cone assemblies. Among their chains, you will find multi-purpose industrial roller chains, heavy-duty conveyor chains and weather-resistant agricultural chains and a variety of heat-resistant V-belts including multi-ribbed belts and precision-moulded raw edge cogged belts which offer the potential to reduce your energy consumption by improving power transfer with their extra grip.
