INA was established in 1946 by brothers Wilhelm and Georg Schaeffler. They are noted for the groundbreaking idea of the needle roller cage assembly which was first developed by Georg Schaeffler in 1949.

Today, the needle roller still lives on and is only a small part of the large product range INA produce.
